Avian ecology

The Swainson’s Warbler (Limnothlypis swainsonii) is a species of critical conservation concern in the southeastern U.S.  Because these warblers are ground-foraging litter-specialists, they likely are adversely affected by flooding.  I am trying to provide a baseline assessement of the Swainson's Warbler (SWWA) population at White River National Wildlife Refuge in eastern Arkansas.  I am comparing habitat characteristics and arthropod communities of occupied vs. unoccupied sites at relatively high-elevation areas of a bottomland hardwood forest in order to assess the efficacy of future management in restoring Swainson’s Warbler populations.
