The BBC returned to film more footage of the Western Slimy Salamander (Plethodon albagula) at Spillway Mine near Lake Ouachita, Garland County, AR. The footage will be a part of the documentary, Life in Cold Blood, which will be Sir David Attenborough's finale in his extraordinary global nature series aired by the BBC over the past 50 years. Wildlife camerman, Keith Brust; BBC Researcher, Nikki Stew, and I spent 3 days video recording salamander behavior in mid November, 2006. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineering (Blakely Mountain Dam office) provided valuable logistical support during the event. The following photographs were taken during the filming:
