In addition to the at-large academic scholarships offered by the
University, the following scholarships are available for students
majoring in the Biological Sciences.
- Angelo Arts & Sciences Scholarships - This
scholarship is available for any major within the College of Arts &
Sciences. Eligible students must have 60 hours of credit with
a minimum GPA of 3.25. Approximate award is $1000 per year,
with possible renewal for the senior year.
- Guido Hassin Scholarship for Science Majors - This
scholarship is available for any full-time science major within the College of
Arts and Sciences. Eligible students must have 30 hours of
credit with a minimum GPA of 3.25 and demonstrate promise in the
chosen field of study. The amount of the award may vary from
year to year, with possible renewal for the junior and
senior years.
- Edgar and Vera Kirk Scholarship Endowment - This
scholarship is available for any major within the College of Arts
and Sciences. Eligible students must be from the Arkansas
counties of Independence, Izard, and Stone, in addition to a minimum
high school GPA of 3.0 and an ACT sore of 23. Approximate
award is full tuition and fees, with possible renewal for three
additional years.

Latourette Scholarship - This scholarship is available for
junior or senior students majoring in Biology, with a pre-medical
emphasis. Eligible students must have a minimum GPA of 3.25 or
greater. Approximate award is $2000 per year. Click the

- Dr. John C. Faris Memorial Pre-Medical Scholarship
- This scholarship is available for full-time entering freshmen or continuing
students with a pre-medical emphasis. Eligible students must
maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 or greater. Approximate award is
$1400 annually for up to four years provided funds are available.
- Hale Arnold Memorial Scholarship - This
scholarship is available for incoming freshmen with preference given
to pre-medical students. Eligibility requirements include a
minimum ACT score of 25 (32 is preferred), upper 5% of high school
class or National Merit semi-finalist, and be an Arkansas resident
with preference given to the Jonesboro area. Approximate award
is $1200 annually with possible renewal for three additional years
provided a 3.5 GPA and full-time status are maintained.

Biological Sciences Scholarship - This scholarship
is available for sophomore or junior students majoring in Biology,
BSE in Biology, or Wildlife Ecology and Management. Biology
students having a pre-professional emphasis are not eligible.
Eligible students must have a minimum of 16 credits in biology and a
GPA of 3.0 or greater in the major. Approximate award is $1250

Justin M. Humphreys Scholarship - This scholarship
is to be awarded to a student majoring in Biological Sciences and a
priority consideration is need. The student will be eligible
to apply for renewal. The amount of the award may vary from year to

Hinck Medical Scholarship
- This scholarship is available for students who have been accepted
to a medical school with a preference for students going to an
osteopathic program. Award is renewable through the medical program
