In addition to the at-large academic scholarships offered by the
University, the following scholarships are available for students
majoring in the Biological Sciences.
- Angelo Arts & Sciences Scholarships - This
scholarship is available for any major within the College of Arts &
Sciences. Eligible students must have 60 hours of credit with
a minimum GPA of 3.25. Approximate award is $1000 per year,
with possible renewal for the senior year.
- Guido Hassin Scholarship for Science Majors - This
scholarship is available for any science major within the College of
Arts and Sciences. Eligible students must have 30 hours of
credit with a minimum GPA of 3.25. Approximate award is
$1000-$1500 per year, with possible renewal for the junior and
senior years.
- Edgar and Vera Kirk Scholarship Endowment - This
scholarship is available for any major within the College of Arts
and Sciences. Eligible students must be from the Arkansas
counties of Independence, Izard, and Stone, in addition to a minimum
high school GPA of 3.0 and an ACT sore of 23. Approximate
award is full tuition and fees, with possible renewal for three
additional years.
- Southland Racing Corporation Harry H. & Anna Mae
Latourette Scholarship - This scholarship os available for
junior or senior students majoring in Biology, with a pre-medical
emphasis. Eligible students must have a minimum GPA of 3.25 or
greater. Approximate award is $2000 per year.
- Dr. John C. Faris Memorial Pre-Medical Scholarship
- This scholarship is available for entering freshmen or continuing
students with a pre-medical emphasis. Eligible students must
maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 or greater. Approximate award is
$1400 annually for up to four years.
- Biological Sciences Scholarship - This scholarship
is available for sophomore or junior students majoring in Biology,
BSE in Biology, or Wildlife Ecology and Management. Biology
students having a pre-professional emphasis are not eligible.
Eligible students must have a minimum of 16 credits in biology and a
GPA of 3.0 or greater in the major. Approximate award is $1250
for one student per year.
